New Agency Residency Program (NARP)

The New Agency Residency Program supports an emerging First Nation artist in the development of a studio and exhibition based project, culminating in a public outcome with an exhibition at the New Agency space in Kensington, Birrung-ga Melbourne.   
Living onsite with use of the New Agency studio and project spaces, the artist in residence will be supported in the development of their project by New Agency director Steven Rhall in addition to support and mentorship by leading industry professionals and cultural partners.  
Proposed Timeline: 
1 November - NARP applications open
31 December - NARP applications close
31 January - NARP artist announced 
Artist in residence: 1 February to 12 March 
Exhibition outcome: 15 March to 4 April
Appraisal and evaluation: May, June 2020

Site details
Location: New Agency, Macaulay Rd, Kensington
Studio specifications: The gallery space is closed to the public during the residency for use as a studio (sized at 5.3 x 6.6 M) in addition to the rear space with sink, and roller door with access to alleyway 8.7 x 3 M.
Studio limitations: the studio is not suited to arts practice which requires the use of
open flames or generates loud noise however some of these activities can be supported with prior consultation.
